Thread regarding Pioneer Natural Resources Co. layoffs

Midland

Pioneer relocated me from Midland a year ago and today laid me off. My husband and I gave up our home of 38 years to stay with this company. We never would have left Midland and there is no excuse for what this company just did. I can thank my manager (SV) for making the decision of who got to stay and who got let go. We will get through this and I can guarantee you this had nothing to do with COVID-19 (one of their excuses).

STFU! You have a boatload of money so stop with the crocodile tears. Texas is a conservative at will state...you know exactly what you’re getting into with the O&G industry. Midland is trash

While I understand how upset you must be, try not to take it too personally. Pioneer does a terrible job of thinking ahead. When PNR sold Alaska, they were already saying (at senior management level, not rumors) that the 7-10 year plan was to be a lone asset team. So why even consider a new building in LCO? Why do so many things they did. The right hand never coordinated with the left hand. You just got caught in that poor planning.

You can express your discontent of the company by returning the buckets of money you will soon receive.

First, Midlands a sh– hole, they did you a favor.

Second, you get 4 weeks severance + a year & half salary+ 24k...get over it and go live your life.

Third, pity the rest of us stuck with doing 3 times the work to pay for your vacation.

At least you can ride off into the sunset looking in the rear view mirror. The demotions and seeing people moved into positions is ridiculous. You got the better end of the stick!! Take care

It happened in Denver. People moved from LCO to Denver only to be laid off a year later. I guess it happens when companies cannot see beyond next week.

Pioneer owes you nothing. You owe pioneer nothing.

Staying loyal to any company is one of the worst things a professional can do. I was left on, but you can bet your a– that I’m gone if and when something better comes along.
