Thread regarding Cenovus Energy layoffs

Chicken Crates Vs Covid

Back we go .. While case counts are reaching new highs in Alberta and across Canada.

Don’t you dare ever freaken tell me that this CLT cares at all about the Safety of their employees (while they hide out on the widely spaced executive floor).. Don’t insult our intelligence CLT!!!

Safety on the ‘job site’ - nope!

‘Let them s—ers eat cake, sit in cubicles and get some covid’

I don’t know folks.. what do you think?!?? Please share! Am I the only one seeing this as beyond insanity right now?!?!

Can’t wait to sit in my cube in a Teams meeting with everyone around me in their cubes in the same meeting. The productivity improvements will be awesome.

As a previous post pointed out most companies are back in the office. Conoco has been back for awhile, are in cubes and everything is fine. I agree there are people with legitimate concerns, immune compromised etc but most are just trying to stay home for as long as possible.

@jqr+17j1RkCV, sorry to burst your bubble snowflake, but unless a person is already unheathy (i.e. typically the old, overweight, etc) you are not at risk. Unless you have been living in a cave for your whole life, this is normally how sickness spreads, to the weak and not to the healthy.

As far as the "front line" workers go, i find it quite offensive to be using a term equating their risk to someone on a real front line, like say perhaps Vimy Ridge.

This is a sensitive topic folks.. expect very different opinions depending who you ask.. which will amp up further as we are in the 2nd wave...

Only thing I would like to note.. because it really bothers me.. is the last post comparing Cenovus employees to a front line medical worker (foothills Hospital). That’s not fair to them and the risk they are taking on compared to us.

Just my opinion .. love it or hate it..

Most companies have been back to the office, at least on a part time basis, for months. Shell, Husky, Ovintiv, Suncor, Keyera etc etc etc. If the health care workers can show up to work at the Foothills in the middle of an outbreak I think CVE employees can wear their masks and go to work.
So tired of listening to the whiners who don't think it's safe. These same people are going to the mall, getting their hair/nails done, going to the gym, going to restaurants. There are so many people that would be thrilled with the opportunity to work for CVE. The ones who feel unsafe should quit and let someone else have the job.

This post clearly demonstrates a lack of intelligence. The CLT is trying to get the sheep back in the pens. They know this whole thing is mostly media hyped up BS, but how do you combat a bunch of hysterical germaphobes. Remember you only have something like a 99.99% chance of surviving this oh so deadly thing.
