The Sun Set Today on the Magnificent Seven

The events of today were more of a wake for the departed, my departure was in March of 2019. In 2014 Pioneer had to have highly trained and Texas Licensed Public Water System operators for remote offices that were on water wells Seven men volunteered and stepped forward not knowing that it was the beginning of the end for their careers. The last of the SEVEN leaves at Midnight tonight. The SEVEN worked behind the scenes very day of the week and if you stayed in the Man Camp, trailer Park, Midkiff, or Hwy 80 you would have seen their handy work, it was the purest of "MIDLAND LIGHT" drinking water that you could savor, over ice. Much better than the City of Midland's belly wash swill that was crusty and you had to eat it with a spoon; it had arsenic, was a radioactive alpha emitter. But, from day one management and legal was suspicious that the SEVEN were tree huggers, calling the state regulatory bodies or EPA, furthest from the truth . All had sessions me included with the Pioneer Fuzz department on trumped up charges. Now the SEVEN are gone no more call outs on weekends and holidays, no more termination meetings from the Fuzz. Who was it that said don't drink the water now, like the time they found the donut cook hocking spit in the donut dough. The SEVEN ride off into the sunset. They were the best and I loved them all for taking the high road, the political morass, and the incompetency of management, the SEVEN never failed.
