My first time on this site and I felt so sad at the lack of thought from those hiding behind anonymity to throw hurtful comments around, focus on such minor issues relative to the issues that some people are going through in their lives, dealing with serious illness, or significant financial challenges. Do you ever give a thought to the impact you have on people with your comments? You are no better than the bullies you refer to. I personally am so glad to have a job in a company that cares about its people. I recently went through a significant personal issue and I have never had a company support me the way Cenovus did. Not that you will care about that. You have no idea what is going on in peoples lives but it would be nice for you to have a thought for the impact you are having on them. Just my two cents.

Well to be fair to the leadership they still have not been given back their money that was rolled back if you earn over $150K. Or I suppose they just haven’t said anything if they did, but I suspect not. Not HR at all here, you can usually tell which posts belong to them. Alex has done a pretty good job but I hope we can retain some of the work from home flexibility in some form going forward. Some of our CLT are still stuck in 1930s and don’t grasp the idea of a flexible and mobile work force.
Waiting until after the thanksgiving holiday to lay-off more, still long enough away to ruin the precious Christmas holidays????
I will say that I have a lot of respect for this new leadership team as they could have announced a lay-off round by now and I suspect they are under pressure by investors to do so, given actions by peers.
I’ll go back to the office even if there are 10,000 daily cases in the Province, out of respect and to support leadership, given they have our backs right now.
Investor returns trump.. but at least they are not nickel and dime with minor savings from some staff reductions..
Cenovus does not care about anyone. Shareholder return is the only thing of importance, everything is done for only that ultimate goal, althought it the company isnt doing a very good job of even that lately.
