Thread regarding Nike Inc. layoffs

Nobody really knows anything, full stop.

Nobody really knows anything. Anyone really in the know won't be here causing a panic, and everyone here could BS their way into claiming they heard anything "from their friend in HR" - it's all gossip and BS at this point.

You'll know when you are let go. You'll know when you get a promotion. Or you may never know because anyone who actually tells you you are guaranteed a job or safe from a layoff could put Nike in legal jeopardy. They all know this game, they play it well.

The only thing they have not played well at is taking care of morale and our people at the moment - but if you seriously expect that kind of hand holding for corporate or HR decisions that root from Wall St. - you have been drinking too much kool-aid.

TBH quit asking stupid questions to a gossip channel - you all may never actually find a confirmation you are safe, you'll just look back a year from bow and realize it. Is this fair? No. But who actually thinks they would be?

Advice? Put your head down, k–l it at what you do, make backup plans and bounce if you feel in your gut it is time.

Quit wasting your time here! Ask those who are laid off already how much good it did them.

@OP just because you're not in the know doesn't mean everyone else is not in the know. "Keep your head down" advice has worked really well for other oppressed groups who have been treated unfairly - NOT! It's the same as saying "Shut up and dribble".

@OP Go troll somewhere else. Your opinion is not needed or wanted here. Basically, F-ck off!

I think people need to stop "jumping to conclusions"...the "Bobs" are here and they are deciding your fate. Nike is a corporate giant and that won't change, nor will their consistent "reorgs". It used to be they happened about once every 8-9 years, but now it's happening more frequently as the dynamics of business are changing more rapidly. I would say the times of 20+ year employees has come to an end. Not only at Nike, but a lot of other places. Sad but true.

why would somebody come here and post that...i think they are missing the entire point of this site. I figure the information I read here is about as truthful as the information I get at all hands meetings. The goal is to gather as much information you can and make your own decisions.

@OP Actually there are a lot of things that I learnt from this forum. For example what I learnt was I was not the only that experienced what happened and that there is a pattern. The question is how many other people have you done this to.

Maybe someone else reads this message when they get an offer with this company and helps them in making a decision because no one told me. I was dragged out from a remote place to beaverton and s—ed out dry.

Goodbye

Well friends, I don't know what else to do. I've dropped truth in their lap but they told me to F- off, soo...I guess I'll leave you to the completely anonymous unauthenticated comment and posting rumor mill. Ask questions away! I'm sure previous employees combined with HR misdirections and random passersby will totally help you know what is coming next! Ask the ones that previously were employed at Nike on here - they will be the first to tell you they had a real heads up from this site on if they were going to be cut vs the rest of their team in a layoff.

I'll show myself out, and leave you all to it! :)

I rest my case with the examples below. :) Previous employees who don't know anything current to help any of us. Shall We have HR reps enter the comment section? How about investors? Columbia recruiters?

Please.
