Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

What's the best way to ensure being laid off?

Not fired, not quit, but laid off?

Most people are asking what they can do to avoid it. I'm asking the opposite.

Someone's going to ask "why not just quit?"

Because why should I? The current culture is not my fault. I'm better off collecting a paycheck until the hammer drops and I get 60 days plus PTO.

Then I have a perfect excuse for vacating my role (being laid off sounds better than leaving for fear of layoffs), and will allow me to take a very brief breather to recollect myself before trying again somewhere else.

My guess is that there's no sure way to accelerate being laid off, but it never hurts to ask.

I agree w the last guy. although it would be nice for managers to be like the second post, most arent. they will find something to add to evaluations or Pip u outta here. be careful. Maybe find a way to be a pain in the A that is overly right or overly raising ur hand was a thought but im sure somehow thatll make everyone else life a nightmare.

Don’t say anything to your manager. The one below may be a decent person, but not all are.

I saw a couple of people make that mistake during the lay-off rounds a few years ago.

They were kept on and then bullied until they quit.

Tell your manager that you'd be open to a package if it comes to it. Take it from a manager, your leader would love to know that there's someone's life that they won't necessarily ruin.

Easy. Follow instructions and "be candid." Tell your "supervisor": "The bank is upside down, your primary project is a dumpster fire–so why are you calling me to tell me my email should have used the word 'that' rather the word "which'"?

Thinking about it–"be candid" is probably a back-door means to get an employee into trouble for inappropriate conduct. Encourage them to be candid, when they are candid complain to their manger and/or HR, then put them on a PIP so they can be more easily terminated.
