Received the information for the AT&T Medicare Advantage, and it could be interesting for some people. There is a $900 maximum in or out of network out of pocket maximum. There is a pharmacy max out of pocket of $6550 (page 29). The out-of-network availability is quite liberal.
Now, the odd stuff. Premium costs
Subsidized retiree (maintains dental and vision HRA)
• Retiree $0 per month and loss of $2400 in HRA reimbursement = $2400.00
• Dependent $98.13/month and loss of $1300 HRA reimbursement = $2477.56
Non-subsidized retiree
• Retiree $98.13/month = $1177.56
• Dependent $98.13/month = $1177.56
So, it's a different deal depending on whether you are subsidized. I would note that the HRA plan for subsidized employees has a $100,000 catastrophic pharma benefit that will to some extent reduce the value of the cap in AT&T's Med-Advantage plan.
For some people this plan might work out, regardless of the subsidy math.
