Less than a week after LR, Cisco announces proudly they are #1 on the Worlds Best Workplaces List. Who voted??

This is absolutely disgusting and insensitive considering what is really happening
the 'great places to work' guy is reading off the cisco hi points that helped them win: "I want to work a long time at Cisco" which I think really means "I don't want to get laid off from Cisco". OMFG
you have a funeral at home and wedding is celebrated in 5 days at same home. yeah right
Yea, this isn't a labour reduction either...it's a weeding out old and bringing in new talent. It's a shame CIsco spins it as a cost reduction measure. Many department new hires right now, starting after 10/23.
“Over the coming weeks and months, Cisco will increase our investments in key business areas that will drive customer satisfaction and partner profitability going forward and reduce investments in others,”
Team,
Today, 2020 brings us some good news and a moment to celebrate – Cisco has been named #1 on the World’s Best Workplaces list for the second year in a row! This is truly a global achievement as our Great Places to Work rankings in more than 20 countries helped us earn this distinction.
In a year full of unknowns and unforeseen challenges, this recognition takes on a special meaning and reflects what truly makes this company great and our spirit unbreakable – and that is all of you. No matter what we’ve faced, you’ve defined resilience and grace and found ways to stay focused, find the good and do your very best every day. You’ve tackled challenges with innovative thinking and as an opportunity to rethink how things can be done. You’ve turned our physical distance into more reasons to connect with your teams. You’ve shown up for each other, our customers and our communities in unparalleled ways across every part of the world at a speed and scale we never could have imagined.
When hard decisions were necessary or tough conversations transpired, we embraced our values and approached them with respect and as much transparency as possible because we believe how we show up in both the good and difficult moments speak equally to our culture.
Thank you for everything you have done to get us here today to earn this honor!
The hard work we’ve put in, the things we’ve learned and the inspiration we take from this year will undoubtedly fuel our future and make it even brighter. We have a huge opportunity ahead to continue this momentum and evolve and adapt our business to make a difference for our customers in a way no one else can.
This moment in our company’s history reminds us, when we live our principles, we create a caring culture that inspires others. When we do what’s right, we make a difference. When we strive for inclusiveness, we build communities up and drive businesses forward. When we innovate, we change what’s possible.
Let’s celebrate this incredible achievement together today – and look forward to all that we will accomplish in the future!

It’s a farce.
Here we go again, after it would seem that cisco PR was kept quiet for a whole week (who said there is no such thing as bad publicity), I guess the PR engines will be fired up and running at full throttle to celebrate this.
In no way am I saying that it is not an achievement (for whatever the criteria might be to get this ), however some of compassion and sense of ethics should come in play if we just laid off 10, or whatever hidden percentage it might be, of our workforce.
Think the last checkin, but then with a genuine reaction for once.
Chuck and the entire ELT are self-serving id–tS!!!! Should say #1 place to get laid off.
Yeah, feeling a wee bit insulted by that one. Within the past few days thousands of people around the world were laid off, but they want to reflect on what truly makes the company great and what makes its spirit unbreakable - the employees. Yeah, ok.
