Yet the external job board is full. Even if they are term jobs, could they have offered internal surplused technicians those same opportunities? 3-5 more years of being able to provide for a family with a defined surplus date is better than 60 days. This is upsetting

Sometimes the jobs are there; they have just moved to Dallas. To the victor go the spoils. SBC/ATT won and BellSouth lost. jobs in Dallas for upper managment's friends and relatives.
The union is organized crime...they extort money from T employees through monthly dues, pay the union bosses their very generous share and occasionally discuss collective bargaining agreements! Wake up all you members, CWA is powerless and has been going down hill for years! They no longer hold the threat of strike over the heads of senior management because it’s no longer an effective tactic!
The CWA strong arms you out of $$$ each pay. That's the whole story.
@1xct, the U claims responsibility for every good thing that happens to bargained employees so it stands to reason they have a hand in(allow) bad things to happen. It's a "It happened on your watch" kinda thing.
“CWA has allowed...”
What does that even mean? You know the CWA is not consulted about or in charge of headcount...don’t you?
Have you seen the humps that show up after an internal transfer? Looking outside is a better idea.
ONE Thousand dollars a year in dues...for what?................................ again?
same thing happens with IT management. they surplus people but then hire new people to do the jobs they left behind. they just don't hide this racket any more.
