Thread regarding Cisco Systems Inc. layoffs

Even John Chambers finally gave up on Cisco

"I am so proud of this JC2 Ventures #startup for pioneering the new edge services model of enterprise and cloud computing. This market transition is especially important today, as Pensando is helping enterprises and cloud providers like Hewlett Packard Enterprise and VMware adapt to the “new normal” and maintain business continuity even with distributed teams.
After more than 25 years of working with the MPLS team, I hope that this will be our 9th billion dollar a year, industry-leading platform."

JC was a massive c–t! He was very politically astute to survive the last years but he barely got out of it unharmed. If you never met him just know he was a f—ng bs dislexic m-f-

it is pretty ugly for JC to invest the company to compete with Cisco! JC made all of his fortune from Cisco. There are many other areas he can invest, why does he want to make some extra money being against Cisco?

Be a nice man, for yourself as well as your family

personally, I hate MPLS but also love them. Hate that they take advantage of Cisco to make billions of dollars by spinning off the idea made in Cisco in the new startup and recruit the top talents from Cisco. Love that if they don't compensate the top talents good enough, they won't deliver the best products in the tight schedule. We just cannot compensate our engineers like MPLS way. Once MPLS is gone, so does the Cisco switching business. MPLS grabs the top ones and promote the lousy ones to make sure that Cisco cannot compete with them. There is not much innovation in Cisco since MPLS is gone. The only thing happens is reorg, reorg and reorg. No idea what is the future direction. Since MPLS is gone, the Cisco SDN (ACI) is going no where now. Stagnant in the revenue and innovation..

Let's not forget that Chuck was part of ELT for past 15 years
Guess Chuck had a nice long nap while almost every tech company's revenues except Cisco are growing like crazy

How ironic. Chambers is the reason why Cisco is where it's at today. He had zero vision, failed to seize the transition of networking to the edge and to the cloud, bought questionable companies such as Flip (the Flip camera, remember?) or whoever gave Cisco the infamous Cius tablet, or NDS for billions and billions only to k–l the entire business a few years later. Under Chambers, Cisco stock remained at $20 for over 10 years. He will fail again with Pensando because that's just a very expensive NIC that's going to be very difficult to sell.

Chuck doesn't want to worry about someone internally competing for his job. Overpay for a mediocre leadership team and enjoy complete reign over the kingdom. The board would have to go externally for a new CEO. Although Chuck also runs the board.

Seems to be a trend that Chuck fires any exec that he is smarter than him

No chance, as Chuck fired Joe Pinto as well

This is again 100% chucks fault because he hates JC and hates MPLS. Chuck and his ELT badly need to be fired ASAP to save whats left of cisco. When will the board act??

Amazing that Chuck won’t even talk to JC anymore
Cisco’s loss is HP and VMware’s gain

Just like Zoom and Arista, here is another example of Chuck firing Internet legends Mario, Prem, Luca, and Soni when he became CEO
