The company will need to find 3 people to do my job. Since I have so much experience and technical knowledge, they will never be able to find anyone with my skills.

I contribute through others in a support role and have done well mainly because I'm around so many incompetent people. If I left, it would not be good but they the company wouldn't care. I'm not a vip in their eyes.
I’m in a support/projects role so I’m absolutely redundant. Ranked well, but based on the last PIP/PIL round that obviously won’t mean much when it comes to terminations. They’ll find a way.
Our entire team was redundant since the day management checked the box to create it. Our team appealed to our manager and VP almost daily, but it fell on deaf ears.
I just don’t think our manager knew what he was doing. He spent almost all of his time in meetings and working on projects that he clearly should have delegated to his sr folks and then constantly claimed he was too busy and never met with the team.
I work on controls and process support and while I work much more than 40 hours a week, I’m one of those who believe if my role is taken away, no one will miss the process alignments or the PowerPoint slides on guidances or interpretations of the manuals.
I used to work in a much smaller company in another industry where you simply can’t find documentation on anything and people just do things anyway they want it... they are still around and still surviving. A friend who works in Amazon told me that’s pretty much like that over there... no one has time to document stuff. One of the things I loved about XOM when I joined, was the care that folks put in to do their work, document and align processes, people who think long term and for the next person who comes along etc. But looks like it didn’t make a difference to business or dividends or share price
Removing you from your job will be a benefit in the short term. In the long term, all our assets are going to continue to degrade and fall apart. I'm thinking similar to what happened with Venezuela assets.
My team would hurt because they’d have to cover but the company wouldn’t notice.
Curious what roles/groups all the people liking this post are in. I'm part of a lean production team and am worried how we are going to keep the wheels on when they cut more of my team.
