Thread regarding IBM layoffs

When do you think people will be told if they are in newco?

If 60 days is when the execs decide who is going to newco - will we find out then? Or will we be told 6 months (or less) prior to the move date ?

The "60 days" is for a freeze on movement of current IBM employees from one division to another. That's it. This does not put a freeze on Resource Actions/off boarding/lay offs/workforce reductions/etc...
I don't know if it means a freeze for new hires/on boarding.

Just a guess, but roughly anything under Mark Foster, I'd guess, is going to be in NewCo.

Having worked in M&A, it’s a trade off when companies announce to employees but the company will know after the 60 days period who is ring fenced. Some companies tell employees as late as possible to avoid brain drain, others tell up front to avoid eroding morale. IBM will most certainly be a part of the former, given their lack of transparency and history with layoffs.
