Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

This is why things are going downhill

I'm so sad to see that there's no longer such a thing as a long term career at AT&T. The company stopped treating its employees as an important element to its success a long time ago and it's been behaving as such ever since. Ignoring its best workers, bringing people from the outside to fill management positions...

And the employees have notices. Most people just join this place to learn what they can before moving on. And then we wonder why things are going downhill...

3 times a week? I think I’ve seen my 1st line 3 times this year. Wonder how he is doing my job audits and quality? He did show up for a safety audit and asked to borrow my pen so he could sign off.

SBC vertical management came in and cleaned house, we got the its my way or the highway talk.my firstline abused craft for bragging rights on ' the calls' which is pretty much all they do now.Since covid the first line only shows up 3 days a week.the 2nd level has been replaced a half dozen times and have no idea the construction side of the house.Saftey audits used as an excuse to disipline. the biggest challenge in the field is how to meet your metrics and not get hurt.Jobs that used to require crews now done with 2 men.Old broken down trucks and equipment ,skirting road setups, all for the bottom line.I would like to hear when the last time any manager put his life in danger to acomplish a job.The wheels came off many years ago but nobody at the top noticed or really cared

This will only get more pronounced in the future.

Well, they don’t need employees. Stinky and Mackerel Fish can do it all by themselves.
