Oh my... While the pandemic is increasing the demand for new laptops and PCs, Dell has not been able to take advantage of the work-from-home computer sales boom for two quarters in a row.
The sales results are awful and worrying: https://www.fool.com/investing/2020/10/16/dell-missed-out-on-the-pc-sales-boom-again/

Dell laptops are garbage!
Because it's junk, no quality in the products they produce. Letting the third party MFG's do what they want and not monitoring nothing. Customers complain, they replace it and nothing gets fixed....I can see why they lose money all the time. They replace a lot.....
Anyone still working at Dell knows that you arent goaled on selling millions of laptops at negative margin. You just arent. This comes from the top down. Why throw money away on huge fleets of discounted items.
Enron has great market share at one stage but no money
Anyone can give stuff away and lose money
Third class company who has no respect for employees. Have been cutting staff monthly.
Dell is moving beyond selling just to make the number. If you’re just selling product at sticker price, don’t expect to last long. Especially as everything moves to as a service. Old, assembly selling isn’t going to make it.
Dell comment
"The share loss can be attributed to Dell's smaller mix of low-cost PCs and Chromebooks relative to other vendors, so we did not benefit as much from back-to-school consumer purchases. Much of the Q3 industry PC shipment growth occurred in lower cost consumer PCs for virtual learning."
Good, didnt lose money or carry the warranty tail.
This is a good thing. We dont make any money selling into the student market. Im very glad we didnt go out and sell millions of cut price low cost laptops at negative ugly and instead focused on higher value deal shaping.
Dell isnt just a laptop company anymore. Mobility is just one part of a much broader story.
That is because they sell overpriced garbage. Most of us have seen how the sausage is made. It's like they're selling rotten meat to customers.
Dell at No 3 is not bad , room for improvement yes .
