Round 4 decision extended?

Anyone know if we will hear the round 4 decisions the week of October 26? I heard the selections are taking longer than expected.

In the CEMREC meeting they just announced all jobs but a few HSE have been filled. They are reviewing EOIs now. I’m guessing they are all on target and maybe if we are lucky we can find out early?

Is the selecting done? Will this be the week that HR starts prepping for all the notifications and meetings that must occur next week or will the selecting continue throughout the week?

"They want as much off the books this year as possible."

Wanting is not the same as getting!

Chevron does not have 100% control over when the severance gets paid for R4.

They are counting on R4 employees left standing or EOI to NOT wait their 60 day waiver period.

IF AN EMPLOYEE WAITS the 60 day waiver period and signs say in middle of December the severance GETS PAID in JANUARY and will save considerably on Taxes and Chevron will be forced to pay that money on 2021's books

SAVE THOUSANDS in TAXES : Don't SIGN THE WAIVER early, if you do you wiil be paying 1000;s more in taxes come April 15th

DON'T FALL FOR COMOPANY PROPAGANDA and sign right away in your desire to get that money now.

They’ve already been accruing and reporting reductions related to anticipated job cuts since Q2. More will show up in Q3 and more in Q4. They want as much off the books this year as possible. https://www.businesswire.com/news/home/20200731005117/en/Chevron-Announces-Second-Quarter-2020-Results

The company already told the media in February they were laying off 15% of the employees. The actual timing of the financials (the July-Aug -Spep) Qtr being reported on Oct 30th won't include most of the write off due to severance payments until much later) Timing is dependent on how many employees don't wait the 60 days before signing the waiver . R4 write-off will be in the financials reported in the January earnings call. Severance paid in 2021 will be reported in April earnings call. All this speculation about delays because of earnings call is pure drivel - you have no idea what you are talking about.

The way it works is after the 26th you get a call and email those who gets positions are probably called first as the days roll by if you are not called chances are you are left standing or EOI. It takes a while to get thru 1000's of employees. All other speculations are nonsense

I didn't receive any indication of delay either, but there are functions cycling behind the main efforts - HR, for instance. HR couldn't possibly be notified at the same time as the transformations they're helping run, it just isn't possible. The WARN notifications went out this past Tuesday advising that people would begin being terminated on October 23rd . It's reasonable to assume that's the R3 folks left standing who were not eligible for R4. At one of the transition HR presentations, they shared that network access and formal termination date for R4 left-standing is November 13th (although the HR Transformation site says November 14th). Either way - soon - very soon.

Selections are going very fast. We were at least 1 day ahead of schedule. As mentioned they want to say its complete by the earnings call so VERY unlikely to drag on. HR will make the managers just work the night shift if needed.

Exactly, Oct 30 Earnings Call. Analysts want to hear cost cutting and M&A (aka Noble) efforts to fund efficient growth. The day of growth through MCP is over.

It starts October 26th. There’s no waiting until after the election. Q3 earnings call is on October 30th. They’ll want to tell everyone they are done with reductions and brag about completing their transformation and being ahead of the other majors.

I actually heard it was postponed to after Nov 3rd. Leadership wanting to wait on results of the election. Actually, expected to be accelerated at that point in time.

There are no changes and notifications will still be on time during the week of October 26th.

I actually heard the opposite - that it was actually going faster than expected (eg some functions only 4 days this week rather than full 5 days).

Everybody has a few days to formally accept their positions. Then the org chart will be populated. Then the announcement will be made. Same as the other rounds.

The “new” leadership from the earlier rounds demonstrating exactly why they were selected...by missing the R4 selection timeline target! Is it any wonder why we can’t execute huge MCPs when we can’t even fire people on time.

When was the email sent? I didn’t receive it. Everyone I’ve talked to still says October.

There was an email that came out that said R4 positions will be "announced" early November. That could mean that we'd still be notified the week of Oct 27th, and official announcements being made the following week of Nov 2nd. (early November)

However, since they didn't specify a date, I suppose that could mean things may slip by a week. I'd guess we'll get a notification of a date change by early-mid next week if that's the case.
