So EMIT b–tardized a b–tardized version of agile.

@1nqv+17stEUAV SAFe is not unique to EMIT (it’s a business on its own) but basically yes

Is SAFe XOM-speak for we-need-to-give-middle-management-jobs-because-we-don’t-want-to-fire-our-clique?

Process Control Applications group. BTES. Baytown technical engineering services

A group with no hope. All jobs in future will be in India and Malaysia.

Hate this BTES group.

EMIT’s Agile framework is called SAFe “Scaled Agile Framework”. The two funniest things about it is 1. EMIT didn’t fully adopt it, instead trying to “ExxonMobilize it” like every other failed initiative, and 2. Even many SAFe consultants know it’s little more than lucrative BS

Agree with the EMIT commenter about working in IT with the threat of your job job moving to a GBC or straight to a MSP. I trained my replacement during WTP in the mid-naughts and it’s happening all over again. At least give me the curtesy of a reach around.

GP formerly EMDC can’t wait to see the cuts to GP as the European group was slashed by 50%

I guess this is what happens when you go on a hiring spree to support projects. Too bad the crystal ball didn’t work and the zig instead of the zag k–led almost all of our projects.

Do you think they’ll look at LIFO? It maybe too complex for the managers to understand.

Theres nothing agile about having 6 managers oversee one coder.

Agile in EMIT is very poorly executed.

In IT, so let me give that perspective.

If you think working with EMIT is bad as a customer, try working with IT when you are yourself in IT. We have to work with so many other teams that's getting anything done is a huge PITA.

That plus years of moving jobs to GBCs and MSPs would make anyone bitter.

Agile has been around for decades. It’s proven to work. EMIT b–tardized it with XOM hierarchy BS. Get rid of the 6 levels of management.

I'm not IT and have seen the very active thread(s) in question.
Also not interested in 'understanding' agile - it just doesn't work as I've seen it.
It's called deductive science.
If you want to learn about cold fusion, that's my line.

One question for the IT folks - what is the meaning of 'anonymous'?

It’s because everyone has had dealings with EMIT and hate them so much they even started a thread solely about them. Most of the people b–ching about EMIT aren’t in EMIT. Hence the ignorance about agile.

by

I specifically asked what groups people were in last week and what made them toxic and most of the comments were about controllers. So either there are a lot of controllers on this site or people were speaking about an organization they weren’t a part of.
