Thread regarding Pioneer Natural Resources Co. layoffs

THE OIL INDUSTRY CHOOSES YOU, YOU DON'T CHOOSE IT

This is JIMBO & DRY HOLE PLANO JIM back for another thought and thread, so many excellent and very constructive comments on one of my earlier posts concerning learning about the oil industry. Following the blood bath of the past few weeks the comments are beginning to coalesce and become more introspective; I see a spark of hope for the future. Either Pioneer or its charred remains will rise from bones of a company once named Pioneer. The future resides in those employees that remain or join, their vision and ability to commitment to hard work and difficult conditions for the next several years, a common vision. I am a sentimental type on writing about the history of the oil patch, it was here before you and will surly be here after you depart this Earth. It is a career path that many will shun as the "ICK FACTOR" as the world enters the 21st century of investors and Wall Street environmental globalism; oil is now a mature industry it has to improve and innovate or surely it will die a slow death at the hands of a greedy Wall Street. More that ever the oil industry requires a clear path that will be championed by the current and future employees drawn to it. Remember my Title, " The Oil Industry Chooses you, you don't choose it." Step up and leave your MARK

Jimbo, I would not pay attention to the negative posters. They are just jealous to not get the package. I am under impression lots of folks posting here are the ones who kept their jobs.

And btw, Jimbo, I wish someone understood chemistry like that at pioneer 2.0 and now 3.0. When a geo, no offense to geos, but this particular underqualified but rather liked by DP for his gossiping ability geo, overspends on projects without decent understanding of the fundamentals. And other good, very experienced and knowledgeable geos are let go to just keep the DP’s favorite. It makes you question the quality of some remaining people. Needless to say, I am planning on looking elsewhere, pioneer is not the same company it once was.

Ah Yes Middle Finger or also known as -3. The rumors of my imminent onset of dementia are just that rumors; no onset of clinical symptoms as of yet. Yes I am much older and hopefully have much more wisdom; but still having to suffer the indignities of aches and pains in the morning and the occasional A. H. that comes along during ones trek through life. MINUS THREE Join me with your vast IQ and lets ponder together the electron atomic orbital shell SP-3 of the oxygen atom, or you can select a more simpler atom maybe hydrogen if it suits you and then we can advance to organic chemistry and discuss the unique atomic bonding properties (carbonium ion) of carbon and hydrogen, then lets take a thought jump to LIFE mitochondrial DNA. All building blocks of life on Earth and that is where we are today, LIFE. Life is about giving back and helping those people that are leaving Pioneer and those that are remaining with Pioneer or whatever becomes of Pioneer's future. It is the People that count.

It does not matter what anyone thinks. Exxon taking over, summer of 2019 they were preparing office space in the Woodlands
75% of managers will be fired
Senior VPs will be a regular asset managers
All EVPs will be gone
The rest of the people will have two options Midland or the Woodlands
Good Luck to All

Jumbo has good intentions and advice. Sadly, he does not know the new Pioneer. It has become a toxic place in the past year that promotes antagonistic and under qualified people. Your skills don’t have to do anything with how well you do in the company any more. Just look at the previous posts where people point fingers and spit negativity. It baffles me how some folks on this board accuse others of wrongdoings blindly.

You need a life! Pioneer is a place that promotes yes men and thrives on giving incompetent people jobs they don’t deserve then promoting them well above their intelligence!
