Well, we still have some 4 months left, are you guys ready for the coming Battle Royale?

Traders are middle men, many successful traders made some marginal profits and then ended up bankrupt because of unsuccessful ones.
For that reason, only a small section of the workforce can be engaged in trading because fundamentally they have 0 contribution towards productivity, they merely trade to create a paper profit piggybacking onto engineering/ automation/ operation. If there were many more traders, a large chunk of them will lose a lot of money because trading is a 0 sum game, it has no intrinsic added value except trying to guess pricing direction based on some fundamentals.
Even a toilet cleaner has a significant productive function or else many things will completely come to a standstill,
What’s the rule of PADP if you’ve been out for a significant amount of time due to medical/family leave? Is it 6+months out you get to be ranked in the middle until next year or has it changed?
I know alot of crude and gas traders routinely booking multimillion profits for the company. Traders must work everyday and the results are measurable. All of you who are only Expense or working on delayed projects or delayed digital transformation or corporate overhead contribute nothing to the bottomline. Most of you are PURE COST (add no value). You are a drag on net cash flow and should be PIP ASAP
@2qsf+17tKObZX if you are who you say you are xom can figure out who you are when you post on this site, be careful troll
Sorry ya’ll but I luckily just became a manager in January and I’m 51, so I plan to PIP as many of you to-yo’s as possible. I’ve learned that’s how to keep my own job secure until 55, then I’ll join you later in the land of renewables. Sorry for the reality check, but if it makes you feel better I laugh all those brown noses and place them on the top of my PIP list. I have 12 reporting to me and hope to axe at least 6 as soon as possible! Don’t need all that traffic in the parking lot!
XOM needs millennials out and about and spending money to survive. Hence the XOM push for RTO, which would more likely k–l those 50+, so XOM is okay with their older employees dying.
GWP = Gone Whiney People
Not ready. In the previous cycle, I have strong support from a senior manager despite a simple year without much contribution (guilty of it), surprisingly I was ranked pretty good. After his retirement last month, there will be one less heavy weight pushing me up. Quite sure other managers will take this chance to pull me down. This is my main worry for the upcoming cycle.
Whatever happened to Growing with Purpose? Does this apply to PIP, PIL and NSI?
Positive note - If you think you’re gonna get PIPd you at least have until July to find another job. If they offer the same 3 month deal then you still have a full years paycheck coming up. Brush up that resume and save save save now before it’s too late.
@rhv+17tKObZX That is your problem and it’s relative ranking too. The goal now is to get rid of employees.. I reckoned it will be 8-10% NSI /NI this round. And you cannot do anything about it as they have used the word “RELATIVE”.
Suggest you spent more time with supervisors and managers to get them to like you. Work wise.. no one cares what value you bring
I’m always excited especially with the new ranking system now! I am curious to see who is next to be on the PIP or PIL pool... definitely a good subject for gossips and it is entertaining to watch as well! Like opening Santa’s gifts on Christmas Day!
We are ExxonMobil
I think they will cut back on NSI from 8% to 4% for PADP based on layoffs. Else the company is ready for another toxic and unproductive year.
Many peoples projects and budgets got slashed reducing their important work. This years padp is going to be tough...
I have not done anything significant yet, it's COVID year - we should not have any ranking next year. I mean, no projects, no nothing. What are we going to write on our accomplishments section.
If you’re just worrying about it now it’s too late. You’ve missed out on 6 months of coffee dates with your managers.
Hunger Games is a rip-off of Battle Royale.
There won’t be a battle because there will be an involuntary layoff in 2021 and they already know who will be leaving. Fighting what’s coming is useless. When the smoke clears, 50% of us in Technical will be gone. If they can contract your role to India, you will be considered redundant. It is as simple as that.
This is going to be one of the toughest battle we will ever fight, like the Hunger Games.
