Thread regarding Cisco Systems Inc. layoffs

RMAP (retiree health insurance) rates up again.....

Just got my RMAP (retiree health insurance) packet from Cisco......and the premiums jumped 17%, and deductibles jumped also. This is the 3rd year in a row. Did the employee plans jump also? This is crazy.

Too much. Costs me 3 times more than COBRA.

I think they are price gouging, but maybe they just cannot get a better price.

It used to be a lot better.

Why blame cisco or any company - our current system allows them to make money off of our health issues.

Besides we voted for this part of the economic system - so what’s there to crib about?

Cisco management is a group of very smart people. They make money from customers, vendors, employees, contractors, share holders, and of course, retired employees!

What state are you in, OP? Wondering if that has an impact.

RMAP is not the perk that Cisco makes it out to be to employees
Cisco MAKES A PROFIT on RMAP since Cisco is the insurer and outsources the management
Prices are lower for same coverage if you shop around with same insurance companies that Cisco offers-United Health, Aetna, etc
