Skills development assessment for layoffs?

I have been with XOM for 10 years. In my time here, Skills Development Assessment has always been used for employee development. But now I am hearing rumors that this year’s skills development assessment will be used to determine layoffs. Any credibility to this rumor? Any managers/supervisors here can speak to that?

When a company starts at the top of their performance rankings to drop their highest paid salaries to lower costs, no one is safe.

SDAs are not being used for layoffs but they will be used to determine if a role is low enough skill that it can be sent to a GBC or MSP. So if you’re in the US and your job family level for your role is low that role is at risk. It’s about your job family level for that role and not your individual skill.
