Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

AON HSA Account

I was FMP'd in 2004 & was eligible for retirement benefits through AT&T. My spouse will be turning 65 next year, I called AON to see what the amount of HSA we'll have and they told me that in 2021 they're changing the plan to United Healthcare & there may not be an HSA available anymore. Does anyone have an information on this? AON is in the process of open enrollment & it's impossible to get anyone who knows anything about his on the phone.

HSA is for a high deductible medical plan under age 65. Once you turn 65, and get medicare plus medical insurance through AON, they provide and HRA account to help pay for the monthly costs and deductibles. Different, but similar in a sense.

ATT/AON may start phasing out the HRA starting in 2021, per rumors.

HSA is based on the money you invest in it. You can spend whatever you've already saved up in the past. People lose HSA contribution eligibility any time they switch to a low deductible plan.

Or did you mean healthcare FSA? There is a huge difference.
