DP Email Re: Masks

So basically I won’t go back until stage 1. “There is no penalty for wearing a mask”....yeah, except it’s distracting, annoying, and uncomfortable. So much for productivity. I would rather work at home (maybe go to the office 2-4 times per month) than go to work and wear a mask all day. All of the meeting rooms are low occupancy now so you really can’t collaborate in any meaningful way. We’ve complained about cubicles for years and now this seals it. They’d be better off selling all offices at this point.

To all those complains you cant breathe with your mask, JFC try some different materials out. If a doctor can perform 13 hour surgery in a mask, you id–ts can surf the Internet in them.

I'm not going back to the office until there is a vaccine readily available. Sitting in my office for 9 hours a day wearing a mask sounds terrible, especially when I could be just as effective while working from home sans mask. The whole point of an office is collaboration and that isn't happening with social distancing/masks/meeting room limitations.

Chevron really needs to give updated and clear guidance regarding a return to the office and remote work guidelines for post-Covid.

Masks are no big deal. Plenty of people wear them all day. Grow up.

It’s really funny how DP went from being a pompous you-know-what in Drilling to a San Ramon yes-man in HSE. Why the transformation?

How big are the cubicles? How high up do the dividers go?

Even the folks at ExxonMobil (it s—s here as well) are not required masks in our cubicles. You only wear on when you are not so socially distanced and in public spaces 75% of us are working remote. We simply closed off a lot of work spaces or work in the office alternate days/ weeks.

If you work in a cubicle you have to wear a mask all day? That's terrible. Hope they let those of us who work in a cube continue to telecommute if we don't want to deal with all that.

Doctors and nurses were loose masks only while they are operating not 100% of the time.

Masks are easy to wear. You forget you have them in after a while.

If you have a good mask it’s hard to breath. If it’s easy the mask doesn’t do anything.

Totally agree. His first email “created quit a stir around the company.” Yeah, not everyone is on board, that’s why. It’s one thing to wear them in common areas, its another to mandate them all the time AND socially distance AND provide no avenue to not wear them if you are in an open office environment even far away from others. They might as well delete stage 2 and only keep 4, 3, and 1. Better yet, just tell people no going back to the office until you’re vaccinated. Let’s not pretend there is a middle ground that people want to deal with if they have a choice.

Nonsense, you guys need to grow up, mask is a necessity. How about wearing hard hats in the field or protective glasses in the lab? Doctors and nurses are wearing them all the time even before Covid. You folks are just looking for an excuse!

I agree with you about masks. It's extremely hard to breathe when I'm wearing one.
