Thread regarding Sam's Club layoffs

Management cuts?

On another thread here @1jdc+17wSp7kl, I saw rumours that there will be some cuts in management. I heard similar predictions elsewhere but it is much better to be accurate with real information. Does anyone have more detailed information about management cuts? I’m not looking forward to anyone’s layoffs. Just wondering.

Hey, if you don't grab a handheld and do your own health screening, that's your fault.

Managers are smug, self righteous, arrogant pigs. Fire every one of them. Let the team leads run the store. They do a better job.

Stop blaming the managers? Give me a break. At the end of the day, it is their job to make sure things are running smoothly. They get paid the big bucks and apparently get quite a bit of vacation, so they can scoot out every 6 weeks of so for a week off. When you do not have good leadership, the ship sinks. When I started working for Sam's, we had morning and afternoon meetings. Our managers were present on the floor. If the front end backed up, the mangers ran the front end and all COS' were on registers. They helped with stocking. It was all hands on deck. Does not work that way anymore. Most of the time you so not even see a manager in our store. You cannot expect unprofessional TL's and MSS' take care of all the issues.

Stop blaming the managers they are pushed just like the hourlies. They have to answer to a higher up as well. They have to send in updates all day everyday and if the numbers are not where they are suppose to be then they have to explain why.

Managers are worthless. We'd be better off with more team leads and less do-nothing managers.

And the people who got the new membership specialist spots at $16.00 an hour are complaining they have to sell credit and get upgrades. There you go folks, does not matter what you give them, if they are c-appy associates they will never change. In our club people got those positions after only being there 3 months, ridiculous. Oh the then there were the ones who had too many call in and/or member complaints who got promoted.

I would bet that 90 percent of the associates at my club do not get their temperature taken and they do not take the health screening. Sam's management is not protecting us. Home Office, wake up for God's sake. Our club is a zoo. Where is the accountability?

I hope they cut managers. The other day, our store was packed, lines down the isles. Our manager walked over, handed me a tablet and told me to go stand in the middle of the lines and get credit. It was claustrophobic, people right on top of you. I ask about the 6 foot rule and getting covid, and was ignored. Was told me to go do my job. That manager doesn't care about any of us. Just wants numbers, even if we get sick.

I could believe it. Whenever a member asks for a manager, the manager gets the team lead to take care of it. My managers even get the team leads to take care of Spark for them
