Thread regarding Chevron Corp. layoffs

Just a short term view?

Although there are a lot more important topics right now and articles on comparing companies in the industry generally always lack credibility, I find them interesting to read. The author of the last one about Shell being “constantly outperformed” by Chevron doesn’t seem to be looking at it long term.

If somebody is interested, here is an article: https://seekingalpha.com/article/4380139-chevron-vs-shell-chevron-wins-landslide

"CVX is also the largest major beating Exxon recently..." Yes, but a Pyrrhic victory - we 'beat' Exxon by shaving about $70 billion off our market value.

Chevron beating out Shell and Exxon: remember, there's that old saying that there's little glory in being the Captain of the Titanic. At the rate Chevron stock price is dropping, and how unfavorable the oil industry is viewed, we'll be off the Dow in a year or two, replaced by some no-physical-asset tech company. Even faster if we lower the dividend. As I've said before, if you're going to retire by 2030, enjoy the remaining (bumpy) ride. If your career outlook is longer than that, start considering your career Plan B.

CVX has been beating both Exxon and Shell for over 10 years straight. So the fellow who posted this topic (I am assuming) is from either of those companies. FYI, the seeking alpha guy, per market cap CVX is also the largest major beating Exxon recently. So please go eff yourself.
