"I do not see any of you thanking Darren for saving your health"

Overworked for years, toxic culture, given no respect by managers, depression, anxiety, no job, no health insurance, no pension, no self-respect left, kicked to the curb like years of solid contributions meant nothing

YES, THANKS DW FOR ALL YOU DO!

Isn't being the lowest cost commodity company already the highest purpose of them all?

Oh whatever! This was in the works before the virus who are we kidding? How many times have we watched this man lie to employees, lie to the public?

I struggle with the idea that EM serves any purpose higher than producing profits (or a dividend...) for shareholders.

Lifting people out of energy poverty would indeed be a noble pursuit, however I have seen no evidence that the company is engaged in these activities.

company mission statement - "Exxon Mobil Corporation is committed to being the world's premier petroleum and chemical manufacturing company. To that end, we must continuously achieve superior financial and operating results while adhering to high ethical standards."

The company is failing even when compared to that uninspiring aim.

A disingenuous line used by the Corporation for years to deflect from climate change criticism. Also, it sure makes him sound like a wonderful guy. In reality, the higher purpose is his CEO compensation.

Darren is getting a lot of flack recently, but I commend his efforts during this unprecedented time. Darren did not know COVID-19 was going to strike. Darren took swift and powerful action that saved our lives. We did not have to come to work, and so the company suffered. I do not see any of you thanking Darren for saving your health but only complaining about your almighty dollar. This is the reason we are not supervisors, managers, and presidents. Darren sees the bigger picture, we are too reckless.
