Usually one big round each year with 2-3 smaller rounds on about a quarterly basis or so. Usually we go "whew' then the next cycle is upon us.

Every quarter. Soon the company will be made up entirely of H1B visa workers. The managers are mostly H1B now. But if you are Chinese, India managers don't respect or give bones. Look elsewhere and good luck!

I'm NOT kidding!! It's REALLY bad now. Used to be lot better.

At least a few VPs and higher are able to cash out on this sinking ship. Although don't understand why any peons are sticking around with the lack of job security and below market salary.

I use to work at Sun. Cisco is turning into another Sun or SGI or DEC or __fill in the blank of failed server manufacture__

I work only 3.5 hours per week, been doing this for the last 6 years in my current role. Cisco is a good hiding place. Layoff aint on my mind, the gravy train is gonna keep rolling.

I’ve worked for 3 large tech companies. Cisco is brutal with layoffs. Has a layoff toxic culture. The worst part is the surviving culture at Cisco envies themselves for not being fired in a layoff. Like stripes on a belt, how may big ones have you survived? VMware has small stealth layoffs but they usually try and find a fit for people except the ones they truly want out. Small scale, minimum impact, some effect on culture. Currently at AWS so should be good for layoff but really working 10x of what I did at Cisco. Bright side is Im 40 and have 18 years experience and will quit tech at 55.

Almost quarterly. Once a tech company gets to this point, it is a death spiral company. Consider yourself a temporary resource if you choose to go there. Don't work more than 40 hours/wk, don't lose family time because of Cisco, and never prioritize Cisco over anything else.

So often that they’re not even based on performance anymore.

If you are a non-manager near the top of your pay grade with RSUs from previous bonuses vesting every month, you’re a prime target.

Cisco has become like a junkie rifling through cubicle search for and selling off any valuable talent they can to competitors to get a quick stock “fix”. After this layoff, come February, or April (hell, maybe even December) they’ll inevitably start itching, jonesing, and go through withdrawals until they can sell off some more employees to get another “bump” of stock.

There are public layoffs and stealth layoffs. In my opinion, the company typically has 1 public layoff and 2 or 3 stealth layoffs every year.

It is not called layoff, that is "insensitive" It is called limited restructuring or work transition offer , and one more thing it is not involuntary. It is voluntary leaving. ever heard of voluntary layoffs. there are bunch of mo–ns running the HR dept here.

Every fiscal half, with small adjustments at the end of Q1 and Q3 historically. It's a quarterly thing since 2011.
