Direct coworker tested positive, neither she nor management informed me. What can be done? I am furious.

Good lord... first you people want to know people's paycheck. Now you want to know their medical history.

When will the madness stop? Just mind your own business.

If an employee is confirmed to have covid-19, Employers should inform employees of possible exposure in the workplace but maintain confidentiality as required by the Americans with Disabilities act. There is no way to tell you without you figuring out who it is no business is going to risk possible legal action so you say nothing. What needs to happen is the infected associate needs to inform there fellow associates themselves. We have to lookout for each other if I tested positive I would text everyone I could and tell them. In short there is nothing you can do we all have to lookout for each other and hope we make it through this.

What is going on with the contact tracers that are supposed to be in place to follow up on the people who have come in contact with someone with Covid? I am in California, nobody contacted me even though my name was given. Somebody is dropping the ball big time. I spoke to my manager about it. He was on vacation when the last person in our club tested positive and went out for two plus weeks. I cannot blame him but I do blame the one Asst. Manager who did not tell me or others.

None of our Clubs managers have been notifying of close contact even though we’ve have 5 people take a two week leave for Covid. Honestly at the end of the day if you and others were not aware and have Covid due to coming in contact, it’s on them at the end of the day for being so short staffed. If you get it , take your two paid weeks and take care of yourself.

OH Darn, HIPPA or HIPAA, whatever...it does not apply to telling someone they have been direct contact with someone with COVID.

Nothing can be done. Get back to work and remember the only thing that matters is the valued member.

I'd be furious with the co worker too. If you have covid, you should tell people so they can go get tested.

HIPPA does not apply to being told your were in direct contact with someone who has tested positive for Covid. It is up to the infected person to advise the contact tracers in your county of all people he/she was in direct contact with for over 15 minutes. The same thing happened in our club. Mgt. did not advise me that I was in contact with the infected person. The person told me she gave them my name along with others. For those of who hang your hat on using HIPPA as an excuse, it is clear you do not understand HIPPA.Do your reseach.
