Thread regarding Honeywell International Inc. layoffs

Any RIF news for Aero Olathe?????

Anyone has any truthful knowledge???
I see product lines and test equipment being taken out of the building and sent to Duncan Aviation.
I wonder if the RIF’s will hit before December 15 401k payout?

There were some really great techs from Wichita. Most if not all were very skilled on the products serviced at CSC and OSC. Shop culture was in sharing knowledge among the teams. Good management at the time.

The Tech IV’s were extremely talented in troubleshooting any appliance. They would be especially missed, I doubt that a lot of them made the transition.

The new HON values low cost over capability. They would rather replace at Level II (SRU) than repair the cards at Level III. That is if they can get the parts from their overseas suppliers that they have on net 120 days for payment.

But that is the operator’s problem, they should have planned better.

How many people from Wichita have left or been RIFed?

The plan to move units to Duncan was already in the works before COVID struck. So, don't look at that as a precursor to planned RIF's. I'm actually getting a feeling that they will start filling in positions within Q1 2021.

Confirmed. This agrees with what i have heard. Clear space by moving product support to partners. Part of footprint reduction strategy.

That would be the 75% non-profitable products. They are doing that so they can focus on the 30% that are left. Yes, my math is wrong, but that is the point. All this has happened before and it will happen again. Find a new job if you don't liked. I did. Old Autopilots rule!

They are moving as much R&O responsibilities to outside CM and other entities as possible. Honeywell has no stomach to fix or manufacture hardware. Current aero president has made a career of moving production to far flung locations and outside companies like celestica. You can expect a consistent down trend in that type of work as they find s—ers/partners.
