don't get me wrong, we all appreciate nice buildings, but Ford is a company where talent gets crushed by Machiavellian schemes. new offices aren't going to fix that.

Delusional is what they are. Who would move to MI to work in a building when you could maximize your work life balance and live somewhere that brings you joy but still keep your job. Talent is embracing the work somewhere live anywhere lifestyle. I personally do not want to go back to endless commutes to then be chained to a desk and sit with headphones on all day on webex because I work globally and cross-functionally. A building does nothing for me creatively or makes me more productive. The only people into that are the ones that wander around all day chatting up management and playing office politics but doing no work. Also, you think top talent wants to live in Detroit? Other big cities are already seeing people leaving city life and moving to quieter areas. I am sure people want to sign up for an hour plus commute on c-appy roads into Detroit.

The only people who really care about the Michigan Central station are those old enough to remember riding on a train through there.

Ford is living in the world of 2019 if they think renting other peoples' electric scooters is still a thing and CA expat tech talent would relocate to MI just because the office space is fancy
