NO ONE in my store wants to be there. Turnover is insane. Morale is abysmal. The environment is so toxic that you choke on it. If I didn't have health issues I'd get the F out right away. I can't describe what a nightmare it is. I cry when I wake up, I cry when I get there, I cry when I get out, and I cry before I go to sleep. I'm trapped. I'll never get out. No one will hire a Macys employee though I'd cry tears of pure gratitude if they offered me ten cents more than I make now. All I want is out. I try to be positive for the associates and stand up for them as much as I can but I am dying.

Then you should leave and go work somewhere else. It’s all about you, isn’t it? Leave because there are 100 others who want to be here and make it easier to work.

My life has been made harder by others for a decade. I'm not spending five hours having a panic attack or even a seizure from the stress, chaos, and sensory overload. I've spent years covering for other people, coming even when I'm sick. I've been the only one left when everyone else walked out the door. Don't you dare call me part of the problem. I've dealt with the problem for ten years. Not this year. Not when they take NO sanitary precautions.

There are those who don’t want to call out or can’t afford to call out. If you call out on this busy day, you make it harder for those who work as we are short handed as it is. It the people like you who make it harder for us to work.

You are part of the problem.

Actually managers do not get premium pay. They get a paid holiday to be taken within 60 days of the actual holiday.

I think if you use sick pay, you still get the holiday pay.

Yes, holiday pay for all PT and FT whether you work on the actual day of Thanksgiving or not. If you work pn that day, you will also get holiday premium pay (time and a half). The caveat is this: in order to get the holiday pay for Thurs you MUST work your scheduled day prior to the holiday as well as your scheduled day after it. IOW, if you work whatever day you're scheduled before Thanksgiving but call out Fri, you wil, not get the holiday pay for Turkey Day. It is the holiday pay policy.

We still get holiday pay plus time and a half for working on the holiday.

Wait–can you direct us to this apparently new policy about no more holiday pay for associates? You're talking about the one where you're paid for the whole day whether or not you work, right (not the time and a half)?
