Do you think there may be small/medium/large Ford Layoffs 2021? Any news or rumors?

How about no layoffs? How does that work for all you lemon s—ing bitter people?
S— it up buttercups
I am sure most of us have had our organizational town halls? In 11/20 Our VP (Jim Holland) came right out on stage and stated.. make no mistake there will be a 25% reduction in PD worldwide over the next three years. we still have another year to go..
Most definitely. Starting with you. Thanks for volunteering.
I am surprised how many people I know took the buyout this year. two LL6' and six GSR8's. All of them hired in the wave in the early 90's. I'll bet the average age of the group dropped 5 years.
As for additional layoffs, firings, downsizing, restructuring...., use what ever term you like, of course they will continue. As Ford (all car companies) increases production of PHEV, HEV and BEV vehicles, complexity decreases, technology becomes relatively common and the need for engineers, support and production workers will decrease. Looking forward, when AV comes on line the employment levels in the auto companies will decrease even more. If I was in my 30's and 40's I wouldn't anticipate retiring from an automaker and try to plan accordingly.
@nrk+184KQUSz has IT issues. LOL
2021 @ Ford will be drama filled one way or another.
Head count reductions will be part of the mayhem next year.
How does Purchasing always fall outside the blast radius. Seems like a great outsourcing opportunity just like IT. Glorified clerks. Seems like plants would be better served if Purchasing was moved to Mexico or China where so much Ford content is sourced.
IT will be ravaged due to sending work to cheap third world countries. (This site traffic will be reduced to almost nothing as this is primarily an IT complaint site)
PD will get hit - 15% task. 2nd quarter.
Lets use the proper terms - layoffs sound so comfortable. Lets call them firings - sound good?
