To the poster who doesn not undertsand why

Total lump sum payments are a tally of earned interest and the basic one-time payment amount. This means that if the interest rate rises, the basic one-time payment amount has to decrease in order to keep the total lump sum payout equivalent to the lifetime annuity payment amount. Put another way, a higher rate of interest means the basic one-time payment will earn more over time. Conversely, if the rate of interest goes down, the basic one-time payment is higher because the one-time payment will not earn as much.

Since…. I got laid off back in 2016, then retirement followed, I sure miss the following :

Looking forward to lunch time, long holiday weekends, human contact, free coffee, free seminar lunches, paid vacations, better healthcare, using sick leave hours to go see a movie, and visiting the candy machine…

I better get back to work !!!

What I don’t miss are…

Schedules, stress, traffic, bosses , Az-kissers, back stabbers, the all day grumpies, and soulless supervisors….

Oh cr-p …. I forgot about all that …. No way ! Am staying home ….

No matter what Wirth enherited fro. Watson, he will be solid. Chevron's biggest problem is overlooking their MULES the people that have over 16, 20,25 years and promoting the beat best dressed, POOR management overall 100%

Business planning should just use a random number generator. It would be just as good as what we currently do and take less time.

Business planning for the next year begins in July. That plan decides who gets cut and who stays. More layoffs are inevitable!

I received a phone call from the new manager of my former workgroup, asking me if I’d consider returning to work after 5 years of separation from Chevron. I asked him to guess how many fingers I was holding up on my right hand.

Chevron is KING on layoffs..over spend on under utilized departments and under qualified managers moved up...Chevron is eager to hire and promote younger less experienced back slappers and cronies rather than experienced long sighted professionals which is why more experienced people are leaving with NO prospects, they prefer to leave than stay in this circle jerk environment

I am under the impression that managers in their new roles are just coming to grips with the fact that there was a huge loss in Sr. Tech from realized EOI. A decade of crew change in just a few months. If there a more cuts they are likely to be in selected areas so they can afford to pull in more consultants to fill in knowledge gabs.

There will be no official layoff announcements, however there could be a few 100 here or there as the company fine tunes it org chart. This is normal after a big layoff. Remember layoffs only apply to employees, not contractors, they come and go like the wind.

Second half after Noble’s redundancies analysis is finished before end of 2020. Is coming, we’ll know more in a couple of months. In the meantime, look busy.

Economy booming- check
Price of oil & gas sky high- check
All assets over performing- check
Big bonus for Mike- check
New loans to pay dividend-?
What could go wrong?

I’d keep my GO400 and CDP up to date just in case

Yes, just a rumor though. A troll is trolling. He will be laid off in 2021 because he does not have any leads.
