According to a recent survey, IBM is a clear leader over Cisco and Oracle in a category that has only recently hit the radar screen.
Only half of IBM employees are anxious about getting fired. A much higher percentage of employees at Cisco and Oracle are anxious about getting fired.

Personally in the 50% not worried side for at lest the next 2 years. After that, who knows, but one door closes and another one equal or better can open.
The other half is perfectly okay about getting fired.
Are the people who get spun off to NewCo still going to spend their time on this site?

Why do people keep reposting bad posts. The original post even said this survey only had 10 people from ibm respond. Hardly newsworthy and just someone trying to drum up noise. I come here for facts on layoffs .... not noise. It’s really sad this site is so overrun by people with bad attitudes vs people who actually want to help those who are laid off or about to be.

The company you work for makes no difference. IBM probably safer than most.
Why would you be worried when you know that at some point you will be laid off?
Been at IBM for 20+ years, and since my first day here IBM has been laying off people right and left. My time will come some day, no need to stress about it.
What stresses me more is the no raise, no bonus...
