Any ideas on which departments may be affected by layoffs?

No VBO, just layoffs. Cheaper for the firm.
Normally, I would tend to agree - the VBO rumors are just that. However - I work at Fidelity, and was told on Friday (by a friend who also works at Fidelity) that the topic had been brought up in a discussion (on a separate topic) with someone in HR. Does that mean anything? Who knows. This VBO rumor does, however, appear to have some legs. We shall see ...
Why do people insist there's a VBO happening? It's not happening.
The purge is here! Eligible are white males over 40. Years of service, 1 yr.
i just heard that a VBO is happening. does anyone know the specifics? i.e is it age based or tenured based (age and years of service)– hoping for the latter.
I was told by the head of anti white male culture office that a purge is coming and will affect all white men over 45. Key ownership repulses over the thought of male whiteness.
it's a good place for managers to find jobs for their kids. can't have those kids suffer at Burger King.
Somebody mentioned white and male. That is what Fidelity was for decades. Most of those people depend on their minions to do actual work.
The thousands more are to replace the older more expensive members of the workforce that will get riffed.

- s. Make no mistake, Fido always does layoffs, er, I mean, “voluntary RIFs” (and then do involuntary layoffs if they don’t get enough volunteers.). If you are >45ish, keep your eyes open.
To hire more, they will absolutely lay off to make room. They do every year. No idea which departments tho.
