Thread regarding Chevron Corp. layoffs

Back to us offices timeline estimate?

When do you think the offices in the US will open? Given that out of 20 million vaccine only less than 5 million will be shot in arms by YE, I would say most offices will remain close until July and after that it would gradually open, possibly at 100% by October 2021, thoughts?

End of summer sounds reasonable. Vaccines will start having an effect by then and the warmer weather will slow the spread too.

@itqc, No, that would only be people who are OK with lying, cheating and stealing company time. Suit yourself.

Payne’s recent update showed it is not even being considered for now. CA Covid rates have exploded. I’m thinking the summer at a minimum.

@4pmm I never take my work phone with me when I leave the house and I forward incoming calls to my personal phone. Doesn’t everyone?

Considering that most CVX employees (now) are young and healthy and will get vaccines last, July sounds like a reasonable estimate.

We better get back into the office soon, else the company is going to have everyone’s mobile phone tracked by employee’s the supervisor or an IT application. If you leave your home during work hours and you’re not scheduled to be traveling, you’ll get reported.

Lol yeah HOU140 elevators were dangerous without covid. Now they bare prone to failure and you can also die from covid. I guess making people climb 40 flights of stairs because the elevators s— helps with the obesity issue though.

Irony of Ironies - 1400 Smith elevators in old Enron building were terribly crowded/slow in the past, can't imagine how our safety folks will navigate 'come back to office' in that building! Floor space itself could be managed, but 'trip up', what ? 4 people max at a time? lol
