Also, if you are given a missed punch form and told to write in your start leave it blank and tell them you don't know. They can easily use it against you if they want.
Yeah, if you lied about your start time you are pretty much as good as fired. I have seen it countless times at my store. It is better to just feign ignorance in this kind of situation and admit to nothing. If it is not a regular issue you will probably just get a slap on the wrist.
Was stupid on your part to lie should have just told the truth and avoided the situation.
Never good to lie. They get giddy when there's a reason to look at the cameras and make a BIG deal about something. Now if you were on STL list of favorites, you would not only be in the clear, but no one would be allowed to even bring the subject of your "not clocking in" up. All would be forgotten.

I was late and didn't clock in , lied about my arrival time.
The person had an improper call out.
What happened to cause an investigation?
Yes,they have it all and this tm is running around still doing it.
Have they given you any indication that they have proof?
All they really need to do is go through footage and go through punches.
Valid proof?
Until the investigation is completed.
