Global market is gone?

Sounds like All the client executives are gone.. except for those covering 500 segment 1 clients..

CLient Execs were the only glue that held together an account strategy from a sales and relationship perspective for each IBM customer. they held together the disjointed rest of IBM into a coherent solution. Without the CEs IBM will be reduced to selling pieces and parts without a strategy - against much leaner firms that are better at what they do than IBM can ever be.

Global Markets reductions are what those in the business units have been calling for for years.

This is just the beginning of the restructure. This + RAs + NewCo will yield a much leaner IBM. It will be leaner than everyone expects. The next couple weeks will be rough. Hold on tight.

If they truly go to 500 customer facing exec’s, that results in a pile of staff reductions. It will all flow downhill from there. The technical side of the house will have to be engaged by the 500 customer facing exec’s. Pretty easy to measure utilization that way. It sounds like IBM goes to a skeleton crew for the partners. No matter how you slice it, it appears to be at least a 50% reduction in sales/marketing/channel support
