No, actually you have to do 3 "Work Search Activities" per week. These activities would include signing up for a job board, taking online training, and applying for a job position.

Yep, I applied, I even got my first check.

You do, however, have to apply for at least 3 jobs per week to maintain eligibility.

I'm curious when you apply for UI does anyone have any issues with missing wages if you worked overseas in 2019? My home base is in Texas and TWC can't find my wages info. Do you have to file in California if you worked overseas? Any input is appreciated. Thanks

Yes, No problem, just don't lie on it and put down everything, your severance , etc, and you can start receiving checks.
