Email access

Why do some people who got LR still have access to their Cisco emails after their last day? People can still send emails to them and some can still access their emails.

No one reads 90% of email content anyway so it's all a wash and balances out.

Sure, anyone can _send_ emails to previous Cisco employees and contingent workers. Doesn't mean that they will get them. Cisco doesn't send bounce messages outside of Cisco. When I rejoined Cisco after an 18-month break, I suddenly started receiving emails from outside mailing lists I'd subscribed to during my prior job role.

Cisco is bad about disabling accounts immediately upon termination, depending on the deactivation of their VPN access. But now somethings are going "borderless" and don't require VPN access, only a trusted device. While ex-employees and contingent workers are supposed to ship back, or hand over their laptops on their last day, they still have their smartphones which are/were "trusted".

What makes you think they can still access their emails? I didn't access my email from my phone, so I don't know if it still worked after I left or for how long it would have worked. But I do know that people still have access to Webex (Teams) rooms after they've left, at least until they close the app and have to re-authenticate via Single Sign On. I usually eject any terminated team member from our rooms on their last day just because of that.
