Thread regarding Nike Inc. layoffs

You deserve better in 2021

Leaving Nike was the best thing that could have happened to me. As other people have said, you don't realize how toxic the place is until you are gone. There are so many great jobs outside of the swoosh. Don't allow yourself to feel trapped. You deserve better.

You deserve to work at a company that values your experience.
You deserve to work for a leader who gives you credit for your contributions vs representing your work as their own.
You deserve to work someplace that really wants you to be yourself. (talk is cheap Nike).
You deserve to work for people who are kind and respectful and not fear mongering sociopaths.
You deserve to work with colleagues who support you vs stab you in the back to make themselves look good.

Do yourself a favor and update your resume and linked in account.

You deserve more in 2021.

It goes both ways. So many women’s best mates clubs that exclude any male, creating a schoolgirl bully playground mixed with fake constant hugging and back stabbing. Every dept should be equally balanced. All males is bad and so is all females yet no one calls out a 95% female leadership, especially when they are meant to lead by example in diversity.

these people won’t leave. They have rigged jt for themselves. It’s gross. And it’s all just about alliances and politics. Literally nothing else matters. I saw people who did by far better work, worked harder and cared more get let go while others who were untalented and lazy got promoted. I saw the women’s team get penalized by layoffs and demotions even though the business was thriving and the product had never looked better. I saw a vendetta against a few people k–l things for so many women. Men coming in with no knowledge of the market, consumer or product thinking they know better. Projects being taken from women and handed to men wjth less talent and less knowledge. The place is disgusting. I was also told that “we fixed the me too problem at Nike so we will fix our racial issues”. Look around men- it ain’t fixed.

So much truth. Feel the same way about leaving. Sure, there are some good leaders and a lot of good people at Nike, but the toxic people at the top ruin it for so many. Still believe in JD and the turnaround, but he really needs to let go of some of people like AC and MM.
