CFO Stephens: "I feel really good about the business, where it's going"

AT&T CFO John Stephens touted the carrier's vertically integrated approach for blending content with network access during an investor conference.

"We feel good about the strategy. We believe in it, and we just need to continue to do what we did."

"I feel really good about the business, where it's going," Stephens said, "I feel strong about our priorities, with 5G wireless and fiber going well. Our new software-based entertainment products, HBO Max and the other, AT&T TV, and the process, the momentum we've seen in those, and then really this relentless customer focus we have."

In other news, Stephens is leaving the company in March while there's still a large pile of money for executives to pull out.

Wonder if the AT&T Discovery District was part of his 300M strategy..... What a waste of shareholders money.

I am sure stephen approved of congress giving millions to pakistan gender studies while giving Americans a one time payment of 600 bucks.

Guy is inept and wouldn't have been qualified to be a CFO anywhere except here in Bizarro world.

Stephens will go down in history as one of the absolute worst CFO's to run a major company in the past 100 years. He is nothing more than a "yes man" who uses financial engineering to hide the losses all while singing the praises of his awful bosses. Good riddance.

He's jumping ship and telling wall street he's leaving it in good shape. This company is in turmoil with constant acquisitions the past 12 years, increasing debt, no overall strategy to blend acquisitions or manage them profitably. Stephen's was part of the problem as wall street never respected him as CFO.

Im sure Wall Street isn't responding well to ATT being ranked the #1 WORST company in 2020!

He has to blow sunshine up our wazoos just to rally the workers! He’s not gonna speak doom and gloom because we already know the state of this business, the truth. Wall Street doesn’t like the debt T is carrying. The stock has not recovered since the Covid down turn in the market while most other companies stock has! There’s DEFINITELY something wrong with this company...

comparing att to any of the FAANG stocks is disillusion. att isn't and will never be anything near the same league as those companies. maybe in stank's dreams.

Every company in the FAANG has a higher market capitalization, adding subscribers and a better balance sheet that AT&T. Apple has a market capitalization ten times of AT&T!!

I thought every division was shrinking revenue? Maybe wireless is flat. We’ll see the direction he speaks of in the results.

What would you expect him to say? The truth?

Just another AT&T C-Suite personality pumping up his golden parachute with hot air.

And the cost to him if he's wrong is .. . . ?
