Layoffs Jan 2021?

Rumored cuts among mid/senior execs, Proposition Strategy and Product Org in first weeks of January. True?

So why would they recreate Product Management as it existed before Oct 3018? I’m sick of this place.

Less than 2 weeks severance? Have my lawyer on speed dial. Ready for a fight if that happens. My advice to anyone who is place in that position.

January has come and gone with no major rounds of layoffs. People laid off last year got 100% bonus plus severance. Since bonuses have been announced, maybe people laid off in Feb/March will get only 75% bonus payouts and a lower than usual 2-weeks per yr severance (if any) if they performed below an “achieved”. I’d expect the round of layoffs (and executive attrition/resignations) to come at bonus payout season in March and not February.

Has anyone heard of when the layoffs will happed? or are they waiting till after the performance reviews and just fire everyone who got a partially achieved (mentioned in the "scary HR msg" thread.

Is this related to some executives not being invited to the TR leadership meeting next week? Do you expect an announcement this week?

Word on street is all current proposition strategy employees will be laid off. TR is creating a new central product marketing team that will replace prop strategy.

Proposition Strategy hasn't produced anything in over 2 years, a bunch of powerpoint generating folks who don't produce anything or generate new ideas, and overpaid. Senior execs have failed miserably over the past 2 years and have made some head scratching decisions, so easy to pluck off quite a number of those folks. Product Management has been a failure for years, a couple of nuggets of value have come out, but overall a disappointment for the investment that has been made. All of these potential layoffs and the previous ones are due to the senior leadership failures and their inability to mobilize the right talent in the right ways.
