Which geoups/organization had these layoffs. With such a large company, so many layoffs occur that no one ever hears the details on.
I'm very upset about this. I tried REALLY hard to get on a RIF list this year...now I'll probably just be fired without a package. I'm cool with it either way, but I rather would have left with with the money.
I believe we either didn't extend or renew contractor contracts or furloughed them from what I've heard from folks. Which means the same work with less resources. Then again it's BAU.
A regular RIF would have looked terrible. I figure so long as the pandemic is going on most of us have a job.
Many got cut in Q4. Pull your head out of your a$$...
Thankful that we survived another day, but in the RIF culture at Verizon we are always suspicious and looking over our shoulders. It's like swimming against the tide with a few major impactful outsourcing/rebadging storms mixed in.
Be here before you know it. As soon as COVID is over, the axe is coming down
