Regarding the comments about Pittsburgh being hit hard with layoffs: If it was, it does not surprise me. The people in NYC do not think Pittsburgh employees are any good, for the most part. I left BNYM last year from the Pittsburgh office partly because I was sick of the attitude of the NYC people I had to work with.

That is odd. Pittsburgh stands out as an extremely high quality, low cost location. World class local education, top notch skill sets, inexpensive wages, a culture of high work ethics... Why would the Bank even bother to offshore?
Sorry 1myb+18SZKy4V, but Upstate NY is the low cost area of all US locations and we still got hit with layoffs. Not as many as PA and other locations. PA always seems to have the highest. And There is another round coming in July. They’re gonna be nice and space it cause they’ll have their data from mid years then. So if you got a BE at EOY and again at mid, you can kiss ur a– good bye cause that’s how they’re giving names. I know cause I’m part of mgmt. Notice how India doesn’t get hit or barely anywhere outside the US? It’s disgusting to be honest
Shame? Since when does BNYM have any class? They increased their arrogance in hiring expensive Goldman dropouts with no working knowledge just BS artists. Company has been off track for 3 years messed up by Charlie Choo-Choo
This was done without any dignity at all! BNYM should be ashamed of themselves!!!!!!!
625 sounds about right... seems Pittsburgh hit the hardest... which is odd, as it's the lowest/cheapest wage scale for the US locations... with the most available/open seating capacity.
There have been lay offs in UK...management are trying to keep it quiet.

your 30 yrs was not wasted my friend, nobody stays forever or lives forever
I hear 625 were let go as of today. I was let go in January 2020. 30 years WASTED at this sad one great company; sold out to ex-Goldman thugs.
None in UK / Ireland.
too costly and difficult to remove people.
Have any locations/regions outside of the US been affected?
