Why not get it out of the way as soon as possible? Wouldn't it be nice to spare the employees unnecessary prolonged stressing? For those who are going to be affected one day means nothing and for the rest it would mean a lot to know they're safe a day sooner. This is just unnecessary.

IBM isn't choosing the date to make your life easier. if you sweat it out for another day, week, month it doesn't rile anyone in Armonk.
