They figured out such a neat workaround/ sarc.
After I stayed safe in the last round of layoffs, I thought I could relax for a while, but no. It happens that they created such an atmosphere, unprecedented, to make me quit on my own. I thought I was paranoid, but after talking to others, I see now that it has become their regular practice, pretty amazing when you think about it. Fortunately, it is no longer difficult to find something better than this.

The term is gaslighting....
Don't quit when getting laid off is more productive. Show up in the morning smile at your manager and when given a useless assignment (metrics, etc.) purposely bungle it. Extend dreaded meetings by asking ton's of pointless questions. These are just a few of the countless ways to drive your supervisor, manager, director, Stankey insane. It's also fun to do!
When one of the old SBC offices in a former local needed to cut head count, they didn't lay off, they would fire who they could FOR CAUSE (no call no show, late every day, FMLA abuse, Etc...).
Sounds like bellyaching.
They've been driving people off since the dawn of telephone, it's the culture.today called cancelling, yesterday shunning. don't take it personally, just take their money in big chunks.the best revenge is a big paycheck.
so true - I was wanting to do cloud stuff but they never would move me or any job I applied for was already taken before they posted the job. got sick of the way I being treated all the while just twiddling my fingers and doing paperwork.
so I left on my own. hey and guess what I was over 50 the only thing I had against me was pension and built up vacation. but glad I left looks like they are taking the vacation away. so now I am doing cloud stuff and cutting edge stuff for another company with better benefits and they respect people with experience in the field.
Either you own the job, or the job owns you!!
It is a old trick used by many silicon valley companies that are floundering due to mismanagement ,create a hostile work environment to facilitate the departure of payroll .
Maybe it's you?
That's the point when you stop playing their game. Stop caring about your performance numbers. Stop caring about your workload. Show up and collect your pay check.
Make them get rid of you. Don't give up and quit - make them pay for terminating your employment.
"what were they doing to you?"
my lawyer says I should not talk about the case.
what were they doing to you?
Yep they are pros at that and hire people just to do what you describe.
