Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

STI bonus for leaving now

I am band 7T Sr analyst, and am eligible for 2020 bonus of (target)10% salary. I worked at Verizon whole year for 2020.

If I leave Verizon now (January 2021), am I eligible for 2020 bonus, or do I need to wait till I get the bonus and then leave?

Thanks for your help and input.

@aKold+18UwFymy You must be active on the payroll as of 12/31 of the plan year in order to receive your bonus for that year UNLESS you retire or are RIFd. Then you will receive a prorated amount for the time you worked in the plan year.

Meant 12/26/20 - As long as you were on the payroll 12/26/20 you will get your 2020 STI as long as you leave on good terms via resignation. I looked it up in the 2020 STI plan document myself. To get the stock payment of 25 shares you have to be employed by the company in March 2021, different ballgame. Hope this helps all.

@2ipa+18UwFymy incorrect. You have to be on the payroll as of 12/31 of the plan year, not the first day of the following year.

So long as you work the first day of the new year, you get your full STI.

Thanks everyone for your help. I am OP. 😁 Hopefully I will not lose my STI. I have to leave because the next company would not wait for me till March.

You will get full bonus. If you are union you will get the rod. I guess that is why they never leave.

Don't worry about STI. You should be paid but leaving or staying is auch bigger decision than 1 10% bonus. STI this year will probably be garbage anyway.

@pby+18UwFymy is correct. It will be paid to you when it is normally paid (Feb) and if you have direct deposit set up, that's where it will go.
