I was unable to dial into the Safety and Operations Tech Services townhall on Thursday. So, I just finished listening to the recorded townhall where John McKenzie (the COO) introduced himself. Jon seemed to introduce himself as the new CEO of the new Cenovus. This happened at about 36 to 38 minutes mark of the video. I am not sure if I heard him right or not. I played the video again and heard the same thing. Can somebody go back and listen to the video and confirm if I heard right or not.

Wow. Somebody touched on a sore spot here. If they are this upset about a post you know you generally got it right. Maybe Alex just realized he’s being undermined by his own second in command that he helped get hired. That’s got to hurt and thus the responses here.
He probably just realized he helped engineer a reverse takeover without even knowing what was going on.
Does it affect you? Really, will it change anything for you? So stfu and accept your package gracefully.
Wonder which way Drew and his cronies will lean in this battle? He would be positioning himself for the best possible outcome. For him.

I just listened to the recording and Jon did call himself the new CEO of the new Cenovus in that video. That guy is just too arrogant and power hungry. This is not good for new Cenovus at all. I just hope that Alex will be able to put him where he belongs.
Anyone remember the last accountant we had in charge of Cenovus. The wonderful Brian, and how did that work out for everyone? He almost ran the company into the ground with his consultants and the conoco purchase. Let’s just say he left while hanging his head along with Ivor.
That is not an accident at all. That guy is angling to take over Alex’s job for sure. He’s doing the rounds of all the townhalls not Alex. Alex won’t last the year.
