Thread regarding JPMorgan Chase & Co. layoffs

Annual Reviews

Why don't managers stick to focusing on your work instead of personal traits? Some are on powertrips and know it will be challenging for you to post out when opportunity presents itself.

They'll change it for you. All you have to say is that it isn't related to your business performance. Just got promoted last year while doing that. Good luck!

The only power a manager has when writing a review is the power you give to them.

Couldn’t agree more with the OP!! A bunch of two-bit beta engineers who loved titles, kissed higher-ups behinds and took a lot of slack to climb the ladder and now dish out punishment/rudeness to those that report to them. A vicious cycle.

I know a 601 in GTI who didn’t get a bonus or a raise and their review wasn’t bad....that’s just not ok!

3% raise for a promotion...I was incredibly disappointed...Now I’m making $11k under the typical salary at the level I’m at....i hope chase makes up for it at some point

Got a good raise today. Highest rate I've ever received in my many years at Chase. A few minutes later received an email from my 3 up manager with a long retention contract written by a lawyer. Not sure what to think, Probably not good. Outsourced and Offshored, no doubt.

I don't listen to a word they say, only thing Jamie Dimon and I care about is the money. Money not words, money not words. Just remember that.

I am an analyst but kept getting tasks that are associates’ responsibilities. So I am getting paid analyst salary but doing associate level work....I ll bring this up to my manager politely, this guy better give me a good answer or he will lose another outstanding employee....once again

What was the average raise for an associate this year?

by

Post ID: @3jtp+18XsCob2

Not just VPs. I’m a 602 (associate) and we only received bonuses but no pay raises.

VP and above will not be getting raises apparently...but I’m sure the bonuses will be the typical 15-20k+

AWM - VP role. I got all S this year. Still waiting for my manager to tell me about any (if) I will get a bonus/raise.

I've had all S ratings since the new rating system started. Just means your bonus/increase is likely to be better than your peers but not extravagantly, especially if you are maxed or near the max for your grade

The best advice I have received is that when you write your own personal review, make sure you INCLUDE all your accomplishments! That way there is a record regardless of what your manager says. I don’t think managers are out to get anyone...they just aren’t always aware of what you do and they tend to focus on one or two individuals on your team and it may/may not be you.

I have been told that it’s very rare to get 3 strong ratings it’s almost an unspoken rule that it doesn’t happen.

Can you post out if you got a growth in one of the 3 categories?
