I feel terrible. I accidentally made such a stupid mistake at work and I expect to be fired at any moment. The mistake is not huge and fortunately it can be corrected, I offered a solution, but I still don’t think it will pass. I’m already panicking about what they will tell me in the end.
Have you ever had unintentional omissions and how strict is Nike when a worker makes a mistake? I don’t have a lot of work experience here, I haven’t been in this company for a long time and I don’t know what the policy is on this issue, and I really care about keeping my job.

Did you misspell Steph Curry’s name in your presentation deck that was shown to him? If not, you’re good.
It depends more on who your boss is then the mistake itself. I have seen people blow hundreds of millions on wrong technology decisions and be fine. On the flip side people make tiny mistakes in a PowerPoint or something or some that had been moved to roles (against their will) they absolutely could not do perform and sacked at the earliest opportunity. Common factor: it depends on how it makes the manager look. Cover up (you can stay) or get rid of the evidence / problem (lay off during re-org = the perfect tool for spineless managers).
I seem to remember a former CMO who flamed out pretty hard.
Nike has a way with messing with your triggers. I feel like maybe you should find a therapist or work somewhere else.
Nobody here can answer your question without knowing what you did.
Nike is actually pretty tolerant with mistakes. To a point. There’s “I messed up a presentation badly” types of mistakes, then there’s “I caused Nike to lose $20,000,000” types of mistakes.
Obviously those probably wouldn’t be treated the same.
Vague question gonna get a vague answer.
Oh hey, HR spoke, @2mxo, the day is saved.
HR here... there are very few things that qualify for automatic termination. You are probably going to be fine.
I think you should be fine as long as you let your manager know asap with a plan to course correct it. Unless you are talking unprecedented mistake like stealing money and or s-xual overtures that were caught on camera/ email etc.
Did you steal money or company property? Did you download personal data to your personal laptop/hard drive? Did you threaten someone's life? Did you s-xually harass a co-worker? Did you hit someone? So what happened? Did you do something dumb that was caught on camera and uploaded online for all to see?
What did you do?
OP. chill out...it only a mistake and it is not like you are denying it or tried to hide it. What is one of the ways by which we learn? We learn from our mistakes. Just relax about it and show some confidence. You have already showed humility...all good.
